ROZNOV, Czech Republic – June 8, 2018 – ON Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: ON) driving energy efficient innovations, has announced the opening of its expanded information technology (IT) center in Roznov, Czech Republic, providing a wide scale of internal shared services to the global corporation. This expansion underlines the company’s strong commitment to utilization of information technologies in high-tech manufacturing and engineering processes and its overall strategy towards automation and Industry 4.0.
As the scope of the activities undertaken and the number of employees has continued to increase due to ongoing major expansion of the company’s manufacturing activities in Roznov, the IT center reached a stage where expansion was necessary to keep up with the modern technologies, essential for its high-tech business. The new offices present the engineering staff with an optimized workspace, allowing more creative and efficient support of the company information systems and focus on new technologies and innovation.
ON Semiconductor’s investment into IT shared services in Roznov began 18 years ago and the team has gradually expanded to one of the largest IT groups within the company. The activities of the center include design, development, integration, and implementation of software solutions for both enterprise and manufacturing systems, factory integration and automation and 24x7 IT system operations.
With the close proximity to nearby company manufacturing plants and design centers, Roznov was selected as the location for building a new consolidated regional data center for Europe. The expansion also includes new office space for 120 employees.
